The 2026 Swedish Proteomics Society Symposium brought the Swedish proteomics community together in Umeå on 16–18 September 2026. Organised together with the Swedish Mass Spectrometry Society and the Swedish Metabolomics Center, the meeting covered spatial proteomics, multiomics, clinical applications, research infrastructures and data integration.

The programme combined excellent keynote lectures with presentations from early-career researchers, poster pitches and many engaging discussions.

The meeting also marked a change in SPS leadership. Fredrik Edfors has taken over as President from André Mateus. The SPS board, on behalf of Apotekarsociteten, warmly thanks André for his committed leadership and important contributions to the Society.

Thank you to all speakers, organisers, sponsors and participants who made the meeting a success. We look forward to continuing the discussions and welcoming the community to Stockholm in November 2027.
